TransAmsterdam depends on funds and subsidies to organize our events, workshops at our Trans Art School, meetings for trans and non-binary people.
Through art and culture, TransAmsterdam wants to show that trans people are more than their gender. Art and culture form a connecting factor between the trans community and society. With art as a mouthpiece, we give trans people a clear face and a powerful voice. By stimulating positive visibility, we promote the emancipation and empowerment of trans people in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and even beyond. With our work we fight 'minority stress' in the target group, by participating in art and culture projects, trans people flourish, become less shy and gain a stronger sense of self.
To achieve this, we are looking for partners and sponsors who want to help us with financial resources, laptops, telephones, means of transport, make-up items, film, music, video and painting materials, beamer/projector + screen.

Getting there
About TransAmsterdam
TransAmsterdam wants to show that the transgender community is part of society. To achieve this, we collaborate with various artists, such as photographers, actors, poets, musicians, writers, filmmakers and painters. We also work together with national and international "trans" art and cultural organizations.
In 2019, we founded the Trans Art School. At our Trans Art School, trans people can follow artistic, cultural and lifestyle workshops.
With art and culture we show that trans people are more than their gender. Art, culture and lifestyle serve as the connecting factors of the transgender community as part of society. By stimulating the positive visibility of trans people, we promote the emancipation and empowerment of trans people in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and beyond.
