On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the festive opening of Pride East will take place during Pride Amsterdam.
The TransPride Walk starts at 2:00 PM at the Muziekdome in the Oosterpark. Gather with our team at 1:30 PM.
From De Muziekdome in Oosterpark we walk at 15:00 to van Swindenstraat, Javastraat to Pride Oost on Javaplein. We walk with a colorful procession, trans community, friends, allies, music, and the 7 meter trans flag through the streets of Amsterdam East.
With the TransPride Walk we show that you can be yourself and that you are safe as a trans person in Amsterdam East. We hand out TransPride waving flags to the residents. In this way, TransAmsterdam wants to make contact with the city, neighborhood and residents as a trans community.
Pride East opens on Javaplein. During Pride East, a stage is offered to various "trans" artists and artists from East. Poems are recited, stories are told, music is made and there are various acts. You can also enjoy various DJs and dance on the Javaplein.

About TransAmsterdam
TransAmsterdam wants to show that the transgender community is part of society. To achieve this, we collaborate with various artists, such as photographers, actors, poets, musicians, writers, filmmakers and painters. We also work together with national and international "trans" art and cultural organizations.
In 2019, we founded the Trans Art School. At our Trans Art School, trans people can follow artistic, cultural and lifestyle workshops.
With art and culture we show that trans people are more than their gender. Art, culture and lifestyle serve as the connecting factors of the transgender community as part of society. By stimulating the positive visibility of trans people, we promote the emancipation and empowerment of trans people in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and beyond.
