Every Sunday Drugspastoraat Amsterdam provides a Sunday Service for our small community. To this community belong some vulnerable people, that are struggeling with addiction, mental problems or loneliness. They find a welcoming place at our Sunday Service. Every Sunday we try to provide a hot meal, that is served after this Sunday Service. And to cook this meal, we are looking for some volunteers.
We expect you to arrive at 14:30. We will give you an introduction to the kitchen and to our organization. Afterwards you can start cooking. Dinner should be ready at about 17:15. While you are cooking, we will have our Sunday service from 16:00 until 17:00. After the service, dinner can be served.
You will be cooking for about 25 people. You will make a main course and a small desert. And you are most welcome to join us for dinner and to share in the food.
As an organization, we rely on funds and gifts to keep our organization going. Hopefully it is possible that you or your bussiness can take on the costs for this dinner.
This project gives you the opportunity to meet with some people that you won't meet in general. It is a way of getting to know a part of our society that is not well known. It can open your eyes for the situation and hardship of the people in the lower parts of our society. It is a great way to meet our people.
