Winter is a difficult time for those without a home. The cold seeps through everything, especially at night when there is nowhere to find shelter.
Many of the people who come to the Franciscustafel live on the streets or sleep temporarily in shelters. The Franciscustafel of Sant’Egidio opens its doors twice a week at Waterlooplein. Around 125 guests come for a warm meal, a conversation, and a moment of rest.
It is a place where no one is left out, and where friendship breaks through the cold.
This winter, Sant’Egidio is collecting warm clothing, shoes, coats, and sleeping bags for the guests of the Franciscustafel.
