Summary
We are a social bicycle workshop in Amsterdam-East where local residents can make their own bicycles with new and second-hand parts under supervision.
Detailed description
The FietsKliniek is a social bicycle workshop in East Amsterdam where local residents can make their own bicycles with new and second-hand parts under the supervision of bicycle repairman Damaris Bolio and volunteers. It is a place where everyone is welcome to come and learn and we do our best to create a safe workplace. We believe that everyone should feel comfortable repairing bicycles, regardless of ability, age, gender, identity, income or sexual orientation. We need help to keep our workshop running and to be able to expand it further.
First, we are looking for tools. We already have a basic set of tools, but to be able to help everyone we still need a number of specific tools. For a list of the specific tools you can contact us!
Secondly, we are desperately looking for an administration system to keep track of our stock. Unfortunately, we do not have the financial means to pay for this ourselves. That is why we are looking for someone or a company who can help us with this, through advice or donation.
Thirdly, we are looking for someone who could help us with the publicity of the FietsKliniek. We could use help with creating an "image" that allows us to profile ourselves to the outside world. We would also like to make more use of social media and it would therefore be very nice if someone could advise us on this.
About Fietskliniek
We are a social bicycle workshop in Amsterdam-Oost where local residents can repair their own bicycles with second-hand parts under the supervision of volunteers. As a participant, you only pay for the parts, plus an amount of €15 for 2 hours of use of the workshop with supervision. This gives people with a small wallet the opportunity to repair their bicycles. This contributes to the self-reliance of Amsterdam residents in Amsterdam-Oost. It is a place where everyone is welcome to come and learn and we do our best to create a safe workplace. We believe that everyone should feel comfortable repairing bicycles, regardless of ability, age, gender, identity, income or sexual orientation.
